CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS AT SM CITY PAMPANGA'S GLITTER AVENUE

Glitter Avenue resembles the turn-of-the-century American Town Center. The vintage-inspired themeland stands 24 ft. high, spans as much as 22 ft., and has a depth of 28 ft.: well-deserving to be the very center of attraction from the travelling townsfolk and tourists.

Dressed by Christmas icons Santa Claus and The Nutcracker, and traditional Christmas must-have’s such as the trees, garlands and shimmering lights, walk around and delight yourselves with the all-welcoming holiday-coated structure, primed with a very attractive jewel-tone finish. Fun and brightly designed array of carts surrounds the Glitter Avenue, too, as your widest selection of gifts great for all ages.

And if you must, cap it off at the grand Gazebo and take pictures--of you, the season, and the joy it brings--worthy of that walk down memory lane.

So detour in a whole new main street this Christmas at SM City Pampanga’s Glitter Avenue!

SM SUPERMALLS BRING HOPE AND JOY THIS YULETIDE SEASON

The much awaited time of the year has finally begun as SM Supermalls simultaneously lit and unveiled its iconic Christmas centerpieces in meaningful and festive rites.

Earlier last week, SM City Marilao was a buzz as the mall was magically transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Façade of the mall was adorned with skillfully decorated well- loved Christmas treats and symbols such as candy canes, Santa Claus and red ribbons that signify the onset of excitement and jubilation that the season brings.

Complementing the whimsical decorations were SM Marilao’s Enchanted Yuletide Tree and SM Valenzuela’s Sparkling Christmas Tree that stand 20 feet tall at each of the mall’s event center. These Christmas trees symbolized the soul of Christmas that ushers good tidings, holiday cheers and fanfare. They are also a reminder to all Filipinos of the blessed message of Christmas and that is to let peace and happiness live on.

Unfolding the Moroccan Christmas spirit was SM City Baliwag’s Royal Christmas Castle. Festively decorated at the entrance near SM Baliwag Foodcourt, the centerpiece drew inspiration from the exotic flair of Moorish architecture; glittering sands of Sahara, bazaars in Marrakesh and rich reds and oranges that conjure images of African sunsets. Shoppers enjoyed having their pictures taken as it exuded the vibe of true Moroccan Christmas.

In line with the theme of promoting hope and joy, SM Mall’s celebration was highlighted with the launching of bears of joy. Because SM believes in the philosophy of inspiring, sharing blessings and sending love to less privileged children, SM encourages shoppers to put a smile on children’s faces by purchasing the SM Cares Bears of joy for only P100 and hang it on the Christmas tree of hope. Shoppers get to keep one bear and donate another while proceeds together with the cute bears will be donated to charitable institutions nationwide. The project will run until December 31.

Christmas Launch is just one of the many activities lined-up for the season. SM Mall’s event center will once again be filled with concerts, festivities and special presentations that hype the holiday spirit.

With happenings like these, who would not be excited for the Christmas season? So bring the whole family for the holidays at the SM Supermalls!

CHRISTMAS BEARS OF JOY AT SM CITY BACOLOD

GOD loves a cheerful giver and the giver is also gifted with much cheer and joy. When Christmas is in the air, generous souls can smell the fragrant opportunity to share their blessings with others in need. Opportunities for giving are plentiful and it is just a matter of choosing a favorite charity or cause.

After all, there are so many causes to support, too many charity cases to contribute to, and countless people in need awaiting a little blessing. Remember, we neither can save nor feed the whole world but we can save one person, one animal, or one tree at a time.

To make a suggestion, SM City Bacolod is campaigning to support the children of Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. Anyone in society can give donations and these donations will help the homeless, the malnourished, the sexually and physically abused, the out-of-school youth, and the special children sheltered by Kalipay. Kalipay’s aim is to bring joy to disadvantaged children.

Disadvantaged children. Who are they? They are the 1.6 million street children in the Philippines of whom 60,000 are prostituted. They’re the 6 million children who are malnourished. They’re the 28 children arrested every day. In our province, 3 children are rescued daily on the average.

“Jemma” describes her young life: “I was living in the streets, a rugby addict. My father was dead. My mother a prostitute. At a very young age, my siblings and I were sold in the flesh trade by relatives.“ Jemma’s story is replicated often.

SM takes part in Kalipay’s goals through its SM City Bacolod Christmas Centerpiece Launch at the Event Center last November 10. Its theme, Christmas Isn’t Christmas Without Sharing, aptly provides the motivation for everyone who has even just a little to spare. It was a fun-filled event showcasing the talents of Kalipay’s beneficiaries.

The Kalipay children danced to the delight of the crowd. The girls looked prim and proper in their printed long-sleeved tops with jaunty ribbons at the collar. Proudly looking on was Kalipay Chairman Anna Balcells who was beaming in her seat. (Anna and some concerned friends started Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. in 2007.) She would later tell me of one particular girl who is now doing so well in school. It means that when given the right environment and love and support, abused children who have only known poverty, crime and pain can get past through these and enjoy victorious living.

The partners and projects of this foundation are Haven Children’s Home (Bacolod City), Calvary Kids Home (Bacolod City), Recovered Treasures Children’s Home (Bago City), Gawag Kalinga-Balcells Hope Village (Talisay City), and Angel’s Workshop (Don Salvador Benedicto Town). The Board of Trustees are John I. Gayoso (Vice-Chairman), Belinda U. Tanpinco (Treasurer), Sylvia M. Campos (Secretary), with Emilio L. Abello VI, Atty. Lyndon P. Cana, and Atty. Joselle Batapa as Members of the Board.

Apathy towards the needy will only worsen the situation and these children, if not rescued, will become the future generation of drug addicts, petty thieves, murderers, hardened criminals or prostitutes. They will certainly become a burden to society. We would have mentally, physically and spiritually sick people amidst us. We can help save ourselves and our country by saving these children.

For donations through SM City Bacolod, get in touch with the Marketing Department or call (034)4680209 and (034)4680168. Don’t forget: when you sow sparingly, you also reap sparingly.

VISIT ONE OF SANTA'S FAVORITE PLACES. SANTA'S TOY FACTORY IS WHERE TOYS COME ALIVE!

The Grand Launch of SM City Masinag’s Christmas Centerpiece, SANTA’S TOY FACTORY was held last November 9, 2012, 6 PM at the Mall Atrium.

Mall Lights were dimmed as we count down to the ceremonial ribbon cutting and lighting. The Giant Clock served as the guide as the program started at exactly 6:00 PM.
Prior to the program proper, shoppers were serenaded by the PLMAR Chorale and The Angono Chamber Orchestra with all-time favorite Christmas carols. A feature ballerina also performed The Russian Dance from The Nutcracker on top of the Giant Music Box.

The program started with a prayer and the Philippine National Anthem. Followed by the Welcome Remarks of Mr. Rejin Cruz, the Mall Manager of SM City Masinag.
The official SM Supermalls Christmas TVC was also played right after the Mall Manager’s speech. And before the ceremonial ribbon cutting and lighting, special messages were also imparted by the First Lady ofAntipolo, Atty. Mechie Leyble and Provincial Governor, Hon. Jun JunYnares.

Special guests were invited on stage for the ceremonial ribbon cutting including celebrity child actor, Jillian of ABS CBN. And of course, the ceremonial lighting was done by none other than the owner of the TOY FACTORY, SANTA CLAUS! Kids were delighted as we set alight the very colorful Toy Factory and the confetti blast was released. Kids can’t help but to jump for joy and wave their balloons as they  hurdle towards Santa Claus!

The SM Supermalls Christmas Jingle were also performed by the PLMAR Chorale and Angono Chamber Orchestra right after the ceremonial ribbon cutting and lighting. The complete cast of THE TALE OF TOYS Musical Play also gave a wonderful dance number and an excerpt of the play which will start on November 30, 2012.

Right before gift giving, the guests also placed their Bears of Joy on the Christmas tree. The program was concluded with the gift giving activity. The kids from City Gate Academy, Kids R Us Pre-school, BrgyMayamot Day Care and Beatalent Workshop were very happy to receive their gifts from Santa and the guest.
It was truly a magical event and it was very evident that the kids had a wonderful time. SANTA’S TOY FACTORY will be on display until January 6, 2013 for the whole family to enjoy. SM City Masinag will surely have a merry Christmas this year.
